Its Linux!
If you want XP, just pop the cd into the drive and follow the prompts.0 -
Are you kidding me?
You are running a "LINUX" operating system and you dont even know how to spell it? No wonder you want rid of it *sigh*
As vomity said, you put the cd in and follow instructions to format disk and install windows on it.[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

The OP has already asked this today http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/618602"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Surely the OP's name is a misnomer? Bet they have to look that up!0

Assuming it's set to boot from an optical drive...
Good luck talking someone who can't spell the OS' name through thatThey say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
To get Lynux off, take your pc back to where you bought it, boxed up, and tell them you don't want it anymore.

I had Linux on one of my old systems but couldn't see the point and had to wipe the whole disc to get the partition back. Depending on how much space is allocated to the linux partition and what else is on the drive it may be easier to get a new disc drive as they are cheap, wipe the old one and use it for extra storage.Nothing to see here, move along.0

format c:
Just type that at the command prompt after booting to a floppy boot disk.
And while you are there use fdisk to delete/create partitions.0 -

Couldn't see the point? How about:
It's free.
It's open source, so can be community maintained.
It's much more secure than "closed" source.
There are thousands of free, community maintained applications available for it.
Most current distros make access to the latter trivially easy - in Ubuntu you just go to Applications, Add/remove Programs, and you have immediate access to hundreds of them.
Ok, not relevant to the OP, but here's another way around possible problems:
If your Windows installation CD won't let you delete the Linux partitions, you can use GPARTED - which is built into many current Linux Live CDs - to delete the Linux partitions that are causing problems. The Windows install CD will then prompt you before creating a new partition for itself.0
