New Boiler - Advice please.

Hallo - Our boiler was condemned today - ooh! doesn't it sound dramatic. British Gas are coming round to give me a quote for a new one in a couple of days, but i know it will be pricey. Any tips on how to reduce the cost - but safety comes first of course. Also we're hoping to move in the next year or so and wouldn't want…

When my brother moved into a house that some old dear had lived in for the past 20 years, there was a boiler that had been fitted and serviced anually by BG.

Come rennovation time, the gas pipe just lifted off a supposedly soldered joint. How on earth it had passed BG's annual service and not blown the house up is anyones guess.

I have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.:cool:
