Here is the last message posted by Curry_Queen:
She hasn't been too well and she wanted to post to say she was still around, just not online as much in recent times due to being unwell. I'm sure if anyone would like to add to that thread so she is aware that you are thinking of her she will read it and appreciate it very much.squeaky wrote:But first I'd have to buy some porridge! :rotfl: You big baby!! :rotfl:Have you heard of the lastest health craze/diet? The GI diet actively promotes the health benefits of good ole porridge
I LURVE mine made with half milk/water with a sprinkle of salt .. but then, I'm rather weird that way
However, my boys adore it made with 1/2 milk/water, sultana's cooked in with it and then a sprinkle of dark brown sugar on top and a pinch of cinnamon ( I *know* you keep sultana's and cinnamon in your pantry
) Takes a few minutes on the microwave and then "Ping" a delicious, healthy, low fat, stick to your tummy kind of meal that will keep your energy peaking until lunch time
At lunchtime, reboost your energy with ....
... Crumble Squares:rotfl:
 Did I mention ... porridge is *very* frugal and *definately* OS~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Everybody will think you've been peeking - not realising that you've been keeping careful track of the recipes I've posted:rotfl:

I only eat ONE meal a day... so given any sort of choice it sure as heck isn't going to be porridge!

I used to like it as a kid. Not this one, its tried, tested and proven by thousands and thousands of diabetics, a difficult diet to start, but easy to maintain once you get going on it, and the weight stays off.I'll post some GI meal plans/recipies

One meal a day!
I hope that you don't mean that you only eat once a day Squeaky, that is so bad for your health! And we can't have anything happening to our future TV star!

Only one.
And that makes me better than I used to be when I wouldn't remember to eat for two or even three days at a time sometimes.
I'm aware that three a day is a good idea - but that means three miniscule things and actually risking being so full up that I don't actually need or want the third meal in the day anyway. I have to be very hungry to eat a slice of toast or a sandwich for lunch, and this really is a rare event.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. I'm speechless! :silenced:
No wonder you are the ideal person to manage these boards. I have to limit my exposure to the recipes very, very carefully.
I'm definately going to put some GI balanced (not low, but balanced) meals on the recipe thread. I hope you will try one or two.0 -
That's a first! Vermillion speechless!
I'll take a look at your recipes, as I do with all of them, when I catch up with indexing.
Currently I have over 400 to try... at one a day, given that I don't have FULL meals every day and the fact that I'll cook for the freezer too... I'll get around to trying yours in about three yearsHi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there.
