Postage query

I need to send out a letter to a friend ASAP however I only have 2nd class stamps.

Will attaching 2 2nd class stamps instead of one help in anyway?

thank you

I'm not sure - but I'd bet a batch of home made biscuits to a stamp that the people on the ebay board will know everything you need to know about postage and stamps :)

I'll move your post across there for you and I'm sure they'll be able to help.

    Good luck :)

I do that, because it's a total postage thing.

I've been known to do it... I tend to write 1ST underneath the stamps though. Dunno if it makes the slightest difference!

Quickest it will go is by first class. You are allowed to 'aggregate' stamps marked '1st' and '2nd' to make up postage, so they should be seen as first class. Having said that its pot luck on how it works, 2nd class letters often arrive quicker than 1st.

BTW Royal Mail allows you to print stamps, so if you have a printer you can purchase and print directly onto the envelope. I have been told that franked mail/printed stamps are treated with priority over normal stamps.

    stamps are just like money.
a 1st class stamp is just an easy way to clasify it covers a standard letter for 1st class post.
so 2nd class stamps mske 1st class no problem

franked mail isnt prioritised.its just easier for the machines to read.plus more often it actually has a full address ;)
