Virgin Media 3 for £20

Does anyone know about the 3 for £20 offer apparantly available on Virgin Media. Couldnt see it on the website. Was told about it by a letting company agent. Sounds a good deal. Just need to know a bit more in detail. I know I could ring but thought I would check out here first to save hanging on for ages waiting for an answer!

You'll now probably need to phone up.

    It was 2 for £20 - M Broadband (2Mbit) + M phone (weekend calls + line rental) + Free M TV.

Think that price was only for 12 months, you might get it for £15.50.

Though over the phone you don't get the online ordering discount.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

This is the deal that I have, but it is not available to Joe Public. I had been a customer for a while and threatened to leave. I spoke with their special retentions people, and said that I would only stay with them if they could give me this deal, and they did.
  • It was on the site for a while but theres no mention of it now . The £15.50 offer is for phone and BB only , TV is NOT included .
  • Only yesterday (sounds like a cue for a song!) - only yesterday, 22nd Jan, I decided that £42 for Virgin's "L" package TV broadband and phone package with 24/7 calls included 'free' was too much. Following Martin's - and others here, of course - I phoned Virgin. You get an array of otions, of course, each leading to yet more options. What you need to do is whittle it down to a choice between "Moving address" or "Want to leave Virgin" so you press the latter (unless you're moving, naturally!). You get a pretty quick response, and quite a pleasant, helpful guy, came on the line asking what my problem was. I said - very nicely - that I felt that I was on the wrong package. He said what do you think you should be on and I said the 'M' package for TV. He tried to dissuade me mentioning all the TV channels I'd never even heard of, let alone use. So he agreed that we shouldd change it. There was a saving obviously but when he said is there anything else he could do for me I said, "Well, what's on offer - so far you haven't actually given me anything. He looked at my phone usage and agreed that I was on the right one for me. That's when I said that my 'next door neighbour' was on a similar package to me with Talktalk but was paying only about £22 a month, all in. He then came up with this bombshell: "Well", he said, "we have a package that exactly matches Talktalk"!!!! I said, "Sounds interesting. Tell me about it". And he did. It amounts to the same package I had before (only with the reduced number of TV channels), phone calls 24/7, up to 8 megs broadband, all for £22.75. For a ten minute phone call I had just reduced my TV, Broadband and Phone Package by twenty quid a month - EVERY MONTH! Go to it, compadres!

Tip: Be nice; take some of the 'responsibility' if you can, like "I think I am on the wrong package, for me". Be persistent, and then say what Talktalk could do for you.
  • Press the 'options buttons' until you get to the one "Thinking of leaving Virgin". You get a quick response and a pleasant operative on the other end talks you through your package. I opted to reduce my tv package from "L" to "M" and then I mentioned that my neighbour pays half of what I pay a month and he's with Talktalk. Magic! He said that Virgin has a package that exactly matches that of Talktalk and sure enough I am going to get the same package I had before, with the reduced number of tv channels, 'free' phone calls 24/7 and broadband, all for £22.75. That's a reduction of twenty quid a month from what I was paying. Go for it, compadres.

Tip: be nice to the guy (or gal) on the other end, they're doing a !!!!!! job, where every caller is a complainant: You'll get more out of them, and that's the object of your call!!!

    Thanks for replies.
I have just rung and mentioned the 3 for £20 and was offered it. It was for BB (2 mg), TV (not sure of which progs) and free calls to landlines at weekends. As I am only doing the research for my son who has just moved into a new flat I didnt strike a deal. He is going to phone back tomorrow and I will ask about the unlimited calls for £22.50 which sounds good.

    Thanks for your help again.

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Am totally confused now what to do so hope its ok to ask here for advice.

    Basically my son needs:

    Broadband
To be able to make unlimited calls during the day.
    TV is not an essential.

There is a BT land line to the house and Virgin are installed

    Any suggestions gratefully received.

    Thanks
