  • Good afternoon everyone.

I work for Vodafone and hopefully I'll be able to solve your queries.

Mzqa395, I believe I've spoken to you by email recently to let you know the charges for these numbers, although for everyone else's benefit here are the charges for the different Pas As You Talk price plans:

    Smartstep

30p per minute for for 3 minutes each day, then 10p per minute thereafter

    Smartplus

Peak (7.30am-7.30pm Monday to Friday) 30p per minute
Off Peak (all other times) 10p per minute

    Anynet

    0845 and 0870 Peak (7.30am-7.30pm Mon-Fri) 30p per minute
Off Peak (all other times) 10p per minute

    0844 35p per minute

    Anytime

0845 and 0870 30p per minute for first 3 each day, 10p per minute thereafter

    0844 35p per minute

If you're unsure which price plan you're on, the best policy is to give us a call on 191 and we'll confirm this.

Hm71, I'm confused as to why we couldn't tell you why you could only port those numbers on certain dates, so I'd love to look into this and help you sort it out. If you could complete the Vodafone Online Contact Form, including the code FIT135 in your message that'll route your email to the forums team so that we can help you directly.

You can even include a link to this thread if you like. Also, please enter as many of the requested details as possible in order that we can pass you through the security checks.

    Thanks for your time,

I must admit I am pretty fed up with Vodaphones Customer Services these days. I have been waiting a month for a call about Simply 3G and my cashback problems. I have tried chasing a few times via phone and get told that there is nothing that can be done and that I will get a call within 3 days from the correct team(which never happens) and when I chase via email I get a phone call from the Indian call centre to acknowledge my email, get told that I will geta call within 3 days from the correct team (which ... you guessed it never happens) and then an email from the Indian call centre operative thanking me for my time on the phone and saying that they were glad to be able to help me (which they never do). I tell you I wil be glad when my contract with Vodaphone is up (March).

  • I too have had a bad experience with Vodafone CS. I rang to upgrade my phone a couple of weeks ago and despite as a family spending in excess of £1000 with them over the last year the CS rep was nothing but patronising. Their loss - one contract cancelled - 3 to go asap.
  • May as well add my twopence worth! I've had very bad and very good experiences with them. Since the latest was the good I am more favourable than previously. Orange has been similar - two extremes within the same company at different times. I have just gone for another contract with Vodafone and overall it is perhaps my preferred network - but it does depend on who you get at any time.
  • I once had a phone with Vodafone and it was stolen and a bill of £300 was run up. I was away on holiday at the time and my home was broken in to. Vodafone cut the phone off and defaulted the account and they wanted over £1000. I called and explained but they said it was going to a debt collection company if i didn't pay up. Thank you Vodafone for being so kind and understanding. You disgust me and i will always turn people to other networks.

Hopefullyuseful1 thanks for your post, took your advice and well this is the response I got:

    Good afternoon ***
Thanks for your email to Vodafone about upgrading your mobile accounts.
I have had a look at both numbers on your account which both started their original contracts with Vodafone on 27/06/2005.
Mobile number 07********** was upgraded in a Vodafone store on the 6/10/2006. This number was upgraded two month early, normally when this happens the new contact should start from the end of the original one which would have been 27/12/2008. Because there was a mistake in the upgrade process the contract was put through manually. This meant the store reduced the contract so the new one started on 06/10/2006 instead of continuing at the end of the original. This account should be running at the same time as the other number, meaning neither would be eligible for up-grade until 26/06/2008, however due to the inconvenience during the upgrade we will keep the end date as it is.
Mobile number 07*********was upgraded over the phone on the 26/12/06. This number is on an 18 month contract which expires on the 26/06/2008.
You are able to up-grade your account 2months prior to the expiry date. There fore one account can be upgraded on the 5th Feb and the other 26th April.
If you require any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.

Well have had to e-mail back again as I have never upgraded in a store- always do it over the phone so don't know what they are on about, I have taken a phone to a store to be sent to the service centre and picked up from there but never upgraded in store. So yet again vodafone don't know what they are doing.
sooner I can transfer the better!!!

Vodafone Customer Service is just one big joke!!!!! I took out an 18month contract with them in August 2006. By July 2007 I found that I was regularly going over my minutes and then I moved over to a higher price plan. The lady on the phone told me at that time that as I had changed over to a more expensive plan rather than downgrading to a cheaper plan, that the 18month contract would be unchanged and I could upgrade to another phone in February 2008. Today I phoned them up and they said that I wasn't due for an upgrade until July. Apparently when you change price plan (even to a more expensive one!!) that you are penalised 6 months on top of your original contract. I think they just make up the rules as they go along.

I explained that I wasn't told this back in July and asked why. Customer services told me that I should be grateful that I had received a good deal with my price plan and I was saving money!!! I have told them that once my contract has ended I will terminate my contract. All my family are on vodafone contracts therefore vodafone will have 6 contracts less by the end of July!!

you should have gave them the crime reference number, then asked them to contest it in a small claims court......you took resonable care to ensure your mobile was not open to abuse, you locked your door & went on holiday

Vodafone's problem is everything customer care is outsourced & you are not talking to Vodafone but a outsourced care team with as much authority as a Indian 3 advisor....

Letter to Vodafone on 3 Jan with copy of Otelo's commumication to myself, 9th Jan - line suspended...called today, nope they have recieved no mail from me ( AGAIN !!! ), Monday back to Otelo.......
