Need to remove google history

our computer is currently being used by our flatmates as theirs is broken, and they have searched for a few 'untoward' things in google. i want to remove these as often when my little sister, or friends children are round they use our computer and I would hate for them to click on one of the suggestions that it brings up when you put in the first letter (i hope you know what i mean by this!)
I cannot find a way to remove this, and have tried deleting my explorer histroy..annoying as i now have to fully type out names of sites i havent been to in a while..but it hasn't done any good
Hope this is the right place!

    I think it's: Tools
    Internet Options
Content (4th tab at the top)
    Autocomplete
    Clear forms

Make sure you just select "clear forms" and not passwords aswell if you have your pc remembering your passwords for various sites.

    Hope this helps :)

Have you thought about downloading the google toolbar?

as well as the pop up blocker, convenience of having your search box open, you have a 'clear search history' option

have you got some safe surfing software installed as well? something like net nanny?
    http://www.net-nanny-software.com/
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000TI422/026-7279321-1924427
Net nanny 5 is only 14.97 from amazon (plus delivery)
    '
Net Nanny is the world's leading parental control software. Version 5 expands on the success of previous versions by providing the broadest set of Internet safety tools available today. Net Nanny is the award-winning software that gives you control over what enters and leaves your home through your Internet connection, while respecting your personal values and beliefs. From website filtering and restricting transfers of certain files, images or even contact details, down to controlling for how long the Internet is used, Net Nanny 5 is the child safety software for the Internet. '

I have not used this or other types (my son is only 3), but think they are a good idea, the reviews on Amazon are not good - but it gives you an idea of what is around... (this one logs chat room conversations....)

on a personal note, I would never let my child have internet access in their bedrooms (not until they are 25 anyway!)

    Hi starlite,

If you haven't already got it, I would definitely recommend "CCleaner." This will clear all junks including temp files, history from not only IE but also Firefox.

  • keep ya PC in a 'public' room, eg kitchen. Keep an eye on what ya kids are doing. Progs like netnanny are a good start but they aint fool proof and kids will find a way. No substitute to real parenting...
