Samsung D900i Pink

I brought a Samsung D900i, in UK locked to O2, 3 months ago, as i am already an O2 pay as you go customer, but where i spend alot of time in Cyprus i wanted to unlock it, stupidly i put in #*7337# as i had read somewhere that was a code you could use, and now it has rendered it useless, has reset the IMEI code to all 0's and says "no service" all the time even with O2 sim in.

Does anyone have any ideas what i can do with it???

  • Hi!
i have exactly the same phone and im the same situation!
I am in australia and did the same thing, now i am stuck on the other side of the world with no phone.
please let me know if u find any way of fixing it!! I have been to a phone repair shop over here and they told me there was nothing they could do!
  • Yes, Take it to a phone shop and they can reset the imei. Its a commom problem that when you use some unlocking tools/codes the imei is reset. This is due to the fact you're resetting the eeprom which holds this data.
Although it is illegal to change an imei (in the UK), I do not beleive its illegal to reset it to what it should be. If phone shop won't do it, take it to Cyprus and get it done there.
Other way would be to get a cable and do it yourself. But if you were to go down that route it would take you time to acquire all the info needed as you don't have a backup of the eeprom.
  • Thanks, i took it to a computer shop in Cyprus, they reset it and unlocked it for 50 euros, at first he told me the phone may as well go in the bin as it useless, but then said his friend may have the software to reset the imei, as it all works now, so very chuffed! Cheers
