I'm not certain why anyone needs to get irate or upset about this.

Yes, we do get spam and yes it's annoying and we want it removed asap. No one is arguing this fact. We are listening to everyone's viewpoints, i've personally contributed to this thread too, and want the same end objective as everyone else - less spam.

However, for people to keep throwing around the "nothing gets done", "Board Guides don't do anything" type cards is unnecessary. This is ONE of many many issues we have to look at on a daily basis and there are any number of considerations from our side before we can implement any further stages.

I appreciate that to some of you, the solutions seem simple and obvious, however from our side there are often many logistical, legal and procedural considerations for us to take into account, most of which you will never see. All we ask for is that people be patient with us too.

Spam will happen; it's an unavoidable part of the internet in 2008 and the spammers get more creative and more intent day in day out. As for the Board Guide part of it, we don't get as many offers as you might think, and we have to consider those applications we do get very carefully.

It's on the table of discussion though folks so thanks for all of your input and i think this thread can be closed now as we have covered the majority of viewpoints.
