pmsl. ;D got to teach youngest one that before next trip to tesco. ;D

I know it's sad but I started singing this when I read your post:

Theres Klingons on the checkout now, checkout now, checkout now.
Theres Klingons on the checkout now, come and see their brows.
They'll help you with the packing too, packing too, packing too.
They'll help you with the packing too, but only if you beg.

i love iceland too, but hate sainsburys. rude staff, rude people who shop there, and demented new trolleys.

My husband works for Sainsburys as an Instore Baker . :o . I have to admit though , our local Sainsburys (not my husbands store) is terrrible for the checkout people literally throwing stuff down the shute . They always seem to take forever with the person infront of you but when you get there they shove it through . >:( . Then I hand over the collegues discount card and they are all smiles and ask which store I work at . (Its my husbands card but you get a 2nd signature on too so 2 people can use it)

My other pet peev is the local Lloyds chemist . They have a security guard there who always seems to follow me . Hmmm , maybe its those extra large pockets in my jacket 8) (joke) . I have been in the chemist , browsing and he has followed me and stood at the end of the aisle watching me , I move to another aisle and he stands at the bottom of that aisle . Its intimidation ! I complained to the chemist and to the security company that he works for . The next time I went in for a prescription they got it all wrong and only gave me half the pills i was prescribed . I went down for the rest and they only gave me half of the half I should have had >:( . I try to steer clear of there now . :-X

Wasn't Lloyds, was it? They've been on our local news so many times lately for giving out completely the wrong dosage to people!

Yes it was Lloyds . Thankfully it was just a repeat prescription for the contraceptive pill and nothing major like heart pills :o . They probably have mug shots of me in the staff room ;D

I've just added WH Smiths to my list of "shops that do my head in" :(

They've put in new display cabinets everywhere, all a lot taller than they used to be, and so close together it makes me feel really claustrophobic.
I too noticed that WHS has gone all dark and cluttered. The displays are too tall and are blocking out all the light. Staff are nice and helpful though.
Now I mentioned my gripe with WH Smith to my Dad today, and he asked "Do you know why they've done that?" I said I presumed it was to fit more tacky stock on the shelves. His theory: "It's so you can't see the staff to ask if you want any help!" ;D

Can't begin to fathom how awful it must be to work in a Christmas tinsel shop with one of those awful singing Christmas trees ... it's one of those jobs we threaten the boys with: "it's worth working for your GCSEs just so you don't end up in a Christmas shop ... or arranging the underwear in Primark ... or in BK or McD ..."

humph! i've got a first class honours degree and everyone i work with at mcd's is doing a degree or a masters. where do you live? in my town mcd's won't take staff who don't have A levels. oh, apart from those who are studying for their A levels ... is it a management thing perhaps? our manager employs students because they're smarter than the average bear.
