I seem to post this suggestion a lot but it seems to have everything your son and his friend will want as well as encouraging them to travel independently.
It's very simple - buy a cheap Easyjet flight to Athens, catch a bus to the harbour in Piraeus ( or stay in a cheap overnight hotel ) and then catch one of the many and cheap ferries heading out to the Greek islands.
Most islands have got everything they need - bars, nighclubs and cheap accommodation - and by avoiding package holidays to large islands such as Crete and Corfu they avoid the excesses of places like Faliriki and instead meet up with other, young Europeans for a more cosmopolitan holiday.
I'd suggest they buy the Let's Go Guide to Greece - currently available for 7 quid plus postage from Amazon - log into this really helpful site https://www.greektravel.com, invest in a decent rucksack and sleeping bag and opt to go for a month instead of a fortnight.
Alternatively - why not have a look at https://www.bunac.co.uk for something completely different.
    Good luck.

OP said 2 18yr old men wanting clubbing and music holidays... u cant get better than 18-30 or 2wenty's.

    Ibiza: Dance/techno
    Cyprus (napa): grime/bashment/hiphop/Drum 'N' Bass.
Crete (malia): same as above just not as popular anymore.
Greece (zante) (bit of everything above as well as funky house, popular with big groups of boys).
    Greece (Kos): House

And these are the popular ones. If ur looking for clubbing these are ur best bets, places wise. People take 'uncovered' series as gospel.

Im with the 18-30 camp on this one..... a right laugh would be had by all! and lots of totty lmao!

    Just keep away from sharon (-;
  • Amsterdam.. everything a young lad needs is obtainable with a bit of cash ;)
  • I would avoid the typical 2-week break somewhere hot, although it obviously depends on their personalities. I went on an escapades holiday to Kavos and I got bored quite fast.

For a £500 budget they could get a cheap flight somewhere and travel around independently, staying in different cities. They would meet lots of people in hostels and I think this sort of holiday is a lot more memorable/enjoyable/money-saving than a typical boozey sun and sand break.

I totally agree with you misscomickat... and I've done my best to persuade them of this... unfortunately they seem hell bent on the latter!

No way, Benidorm sucks! Its England but in Spain and If I was on holiday id prefer to be away from the type of people that frequent that shed of a town!

sorry you didnt like Benidorm Zebb,BUT you obviously dont know it very well or couldnt be bothered to check the WHOLE area,

Benidorm is what you want 'kiss me quick and mushy peas' or excellent restaurants, and good shows,

to call it a 'Shed of a town' is unfair:mad:
