O2 Phones from CPW - line rental from O2 direct?

I seem to remember a comment (from mj?) a few months back saying that new 02 phone contracts from CPW and subsidiaries are now with O2 direct, rather than O2 CPW. I've tried a search but can't find what I'm looking for. Is my memory correct or are contracts still with O2 CPW?

I've read the threads and am aware of (and have just made a claim against CPW via MCOL) problems with this company, but I'm prepared to play the game - LBA and MCOL if neccesary - if the deal is good enough.

It is. New contracts from last September onwards apparently.

If I remember correctly, O2 CPW will still offer "upgrades" (for "upgrade" read "retentions").

Does this mean that if you don't take an o2 CPW retention offer, and sign up for a new deal on CPW/e2save etc that you can transfer your number across?
