Yes - move up North meal deals are loads cheaper i.e. red deal £2.29!! :) LOL

I have also noticed a wierd thing happens when you buy 2 meal deals i.e. it seems to count the stuff other than sandwiches e.g. crisps/drink off of one deal meaning that you only have to buy one lot of 'extras' to get the meal deal discount from both sandwiches. Its confusing - I have not quite worked out the best deal yet and it may depend on the order it goes through the till.

Are you saying that I can pick up two lots of cake or two lots of drink and only get charged for them once?
    e.g.

    I need to buy 1 X sandwich £2.50 to £2.70
    2 X drink 99p - £1.25
    2 X cake £1.10

If I do this will I will only get charged £3.30 for the meal deal?

viney - it might depend upon the way it goes thru the till - but this is my experience:

    Buy in this order:

1x sandwich -- SCANS at £2 or whatever
1x coke -- SCANS at 85p or whatever
1x crisps -- SCANS at 37p or whatever
MEAL DEAL -- SAVING of 91p (ie to reduce above to £2.29)
1x sandwich -- SCANS at £2 or whatever
MEAL DEAL -- SAVING of 91p (ie. it counts the previous coke and crisps at part of this new meal deal)

Two meals deals applied - thereby making the second sandwich highly discounted to about £1 (not sure of the exact prices above)

Would be great if someone could verify this for us/me - because this is what I saw on my receipt from Monday this week.

Thanks for the reassurance. It just felt different that day so I looked at the small print. I probably read it wrong and panicked! I don't get them too often so I'm still on 100 points.

  • i have never put any promotional drinks offers into a meal deal so unfortunately i have no idea how it works, but did we find out if innocent smoothies and/or feelgood juices that i mentioned earlier were valid for meal deals or not? not that i can have a meal deal often now so want to make most of it, thanks.

yes you are correct. you have to have items of the same colour to qualify for the meal deal i.e.

red sandwich and crisps and any drink or
green sandwich and crisps or cake and any drink

In my store there's a limited choice of drinks (coke/shapers/oasis only from memory) with the red meal.....

.....and I thought you could have a red snack with a green sarnie, for the price of a green meal deal (but I could be wrong here, never tried it, too tight to not have a higher costing snack if I'm paying for it!!).
