SE W810i on T Mobile with DAP Query

Hi there,
I got my new SE W810i from DAP today and it is connected to the network(T mobile). The problem is when I make a call to other mobiles, it does not send my number and similarly when I receive a call, it shows as no number. I have tried going in the setup -> calls but there is no option showing as hide my number (as mentioned in the user guide).
Also on the screen on my phone on top left corner next to the signal bars there is a symbol showing a phone and an arrow. (It is not a missed call sign). I do remember reading while signing up on Dial a Phone site that the phone will be in service mode or something like that when I receive it. Could it be coz of that??
