Hm, I don't seem to be that fussy! I'm happy with cheap shampoo (which I use diluted so 1 bottle lasts 6 months to a year) and conditioner (I use more of that as I have long hair - but only buy BOGOFs and/or own brand). Asda value washing up liquid is fine - I mostly use the dishwasher anyway, and get tablets from LIDL or supermarket own if reduced in price. I've stopped buying deodorant for me as I'm very happy with a crystal I got from a health food shop a year and a half ago - and my SO is under strict orders to let me know if I start to pong! I have also tried some non-standard perfumes/colognes in the last year (L'Occitane and some natural essential oil mixes), but have decided to not buy any this year until I've used up all the old bottles I have in the cupboard. Oh, and I don't buy bingbags at all - I have a kitchen drawer full of plastic carrier bags that we use for rubbish.
The things I wouldn't compromise on are natural, wholesome food: free range eggs, real butter and cream (not margarine or even worse, Elmlea! yuck!), real meat rather than processed products, etc.
Just remembered my coffee - I tried Asda and Tesco brands, but nothing can beat Taylors of Harrogate!Cogito, ergo sum.0 -
Things I must buy:
Heinz tomato soup, ketchup and baked beans
Free range eggs (they taste so much better!)
Meat from the butchers (supermarket meat is rubbish)
HP sauce
Kelloggs Bran Flakes
Proper Weetabix
Lavazzo coffee (instant makes me feel sick!)
Twinings everyday tea (although after a few mentions on here I'm tempted to try Yorkshire...)
Fairy or Persil washing up liquid
Uncle Bens rice (not sure if it's the way I cook it but everything else ends up like a gloopy mess)
Lurpak spreadable.
I am a big fusspot!

Milk and fruit - I was advised to cut down on my children's intake of both to save money - I don't plan to.
Free range eggs - would rather go without
Heinz ketchup
HP sauce
New shoes always for each child
Quality clothes if I am buying new for the children - b/g clothes will have three wearers each so need to last. I get lots of hand-me-downs/charity shop stuff though.
Decent bottle of wine - otherwise what's the point?
Rington's decaff tea - because they don't use chemicals to decaffeinate it.

-Loo roll - Nouvelle - and kitchen paper, no particular brand but NOT value
-Marmite - got to be the real thing
-Fairtrade tea, Carte Noire coffee
-Free range eggs
-Stock cubes - Kallo
-Shampoo, conditioner and moisturiser - brands vary, but I buy them on special offer. Also I use Maybelline and Boots No.7 cosmetics, which are so frequently on special offer/voucher deals that they work out very cheap
-Heinz baked beans, though I don't often buy beans anyway
-Bombay Sapphire gin - I buy as many bottles as I can afford when they are knocked down in price at Christmas
-Cheese - never the value brand, and when I can afford it I get it from a proper cheese shop
-Shoes - must be leather, and not flimsy cheap ones as they tear easily and repairs end up not being worth it. For shoes I know I'll wear a lot, I look for ones that will take several re-heelings/solings. I buy my basics from Clarks Factory Outlet (there are TWO near me) and always look for Jones Bootmaker and Gabor shoes during the sales.Operation Get in Shape

I`ve just been to Asda and bought the shades loo roll after seeing some of you recommend it but it will be ages before we open it as we are quite well stocked up.

cleaning/laundry products are ecover or equivelent. (currently aquados)
free range eggs & chicken
local, naturally raised meat. wild salmon (tinned & occasional fresh)
tetley tea. lea & perrins.
get organic veg box delivered but would give this up for farmshop veg if necessary
always buy the best kitchenware i can, have replaced too many cheapies over the years.
most other things can be value as long as they are not full of additives- prior planning prevents poor performance!

Proper meat (from butcher/farmer's market or mail order from farm) hardly ever from supermarket if I can help it.
Proper coffee (a whole bag of Union Roasted costs the same as 1 cup of coffee from a high-street coffee shop chain)
Proper tea (Steenberg's Assam loose leaf tea) - not a big tea drinker but most of the teabag stuff doesn't taste of much to me (Yorkshire Tea is okay though) so on the rare occassions I drink tea I go for the good stuff."The happiest of people don't necessarily have the

After reading the posts I'm going to try:
Branston baked beans and brown sauce
Asda shades toilet paper
Kallo stock cubes
