    coffee- has to be quality
Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last
  • Fairy liquid as you do get what you pay for in this instance.
Daddies brown sauce as I hate ketchup and this is the only brown sauce spicy enough for me.

er.... I think that is it
  • Heinz ketchup.
Andrex loo paper, the double length packs seem to last more than twice as long as any other brand.
Fairy liquid, nothing else comes close, but value DW tabs came out best in consumer mag's tests and are SO cheap I don't mind having to give the worst items a bit of a helping hand in the sink!
    Colgate toothpaste and Listerine mouthwash.
I try not to buy imported meat, so decent British mince, and free range pork and chicken, pref local (don't buy any prepared chicken products unless from free range birds), and I'd never buy New Zealand lamb (or butter).
Sausages, again from the local herd whenever possible.
Eggs, we have hens but when I need to top up it's local free range or go without. I'd rather have more eggs/cheese/veg/rice/pasta, and have good meat even if less often, than compromise. It's bad enough that tea, coffee, rice, bananas and so on have to travel so far!
Finally - Stones Ginger Wine really is nicer than own-brand.
  • Eggs - must be free range.
Loo roll - I seem to always use too much (dont ask how!) so not the cheapest.
Ketchup - usually own brand but not 'value' as I'm allergic to celery.
  • Looking good i thought
  • Heinz salad cream and tomato ketchup.
    Butter,can't stand any spreads.
Aerial soap tablets and Lenor fabric conditioner.
    Warburtons bread.
I'll try anything else unless it's low fat (never seem to have the same taste as full fat)

Have decided to add fairtrade organic coffee to my list as Id always tried to convince myself that as Im not the one drinking the coffee i was somehow absolved from blame:rolleyes: Well not anymore I have convinced my OH that if he wants to drink coffee he should be prepared to pay the extra to ensure that the workers are in a safe environment and are paid a decent wage. He couldn't really argue as he is as much a pinkie as me.

I also didnt includw fairtade tea on my list as I Have enough tea and herbal tea (organic and fairtrade) to last me for years. I inherited some and also had this terrible habit of buying more when it was marked down regardless of whether I needed it.

Toothpaste - must be a national brand
DH insists on Heinz baked beans, but thankfully I only let him have them very rarely
Sandwich bread - supermarket bread is full of added sugar & calories. Buy low-cal bread like Warburtons/WW/Nimble
Free range eggs (barn at minimum if truly skint)
    Fairtrade tea/coffee
Fairy liquid (will buy Persil but not store brand)

I compromise on everything else - don't mind admitting that we buy basics/value loo roll! ;)
top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

would like to win a holiday, please!!

with loo roll a tip i picked up from MSE slighty squash the roll on the holder so it doesnt run freely when pulled it stops you from pulling too many sheets at once
    :rotfl:
  • Eggs need to be free range and coffee needs to be Gold Blend if it's instant but other than that I am happy to try anything. I've yet to find a decent own brand toothpaste but if I can then I shan't be loyal to the big brands.
