  • Must say there's a catch in using this account:

Free withdrawals in July. No interest is earned on the account balance for any other month in which a withdrawal is made. The AER will be lower if you withdraw

But that's simple to get around, just make your withdrawals on the 1st of the month, and withdraw everything. Suddenly there isn't a penalty!

A&L are also offering £50 on quidco for opening a current account. Current account comes with interest free overdraft and 12% monthly saver. With all their offers put together, I should be able to make £390 (ish) out of them over a year only depositing £500 of my own money

Withdrawing on the 1st was my take on this aspect too.

Has anyone's A&L esaver tracked? Mine hasn't - but a few things seem to be giving me problems last few days.

    I got this :
Thank you for applying for an Alliance & Leicester eSaver. In order that
we can complete your application we do require some further information
from you and will be writing to you via the post, with full details of the
    information required.
    - I wonder if that will balls up the cashback (not all online etc)

I applied this morning around 8am after reading this post.
    Got two emails since then.

One at 8:29am just a few mins after my application, said "Thank you for applying for an Alliance & Leicester eSaver. I am pleased to confirm that we have received your personal details securely....."

Another one at 11:56am, said "We are delighted to advise you that your application for an Alliance & Leicester eSaver has been successful. For security reasons, we will write to you by post in the next few days with your new account number and
details of how to use your account, including how to pay money in...."

But Quidco not tracked yet.....hope tomorrow will show up. Let you know, guys!

PS. I am holding a Primer Direct Current account, and regular saving account with them.

I got the same two messages, nothing tracked via Quidco either, but these things can often take a while, we'll see. guess it might not track until after account is set up?

Cheers. I've just (last week) moved so no doubt they need some ID proof.

You can only have one e saver. But you have to close the account if you want to link to a different current account anyway. Thus everyone has a 'excuse' to close their account and reapply later.
.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam

  • my idea was just to open with 1.00 and get 20.00 quidco cashback, had i wanted an alliance and L account with strings id have already opened one previously. ;)

I applied last night, got confirmation of acceptance today, nothing tracked atm. :(
  • The T&C state a credit check will be done. I realise normally an identity check will be done.

Can anyone confirm if a credit check is indeed carried out?
  • I applied for the account on the 22nd and was accepted. Received the welcome letter on the 24th and moved £1 into the new account the same day.

    Hasn't tracked yet.

I suspect that because I'm an existing A&L customer (though not for this account) I won't get the £20. However, there is no clear indication on Quidco that this would be the case, though logically, why would A&L be paying out £20 to existing customers ?

Can anyone confirm that they've tracked ? (particularly if you're an existing A&L customer)
