On www.paidtoshop.co.uk there were some posts last year from some Americans (from a shopping forum where there was a brief meeting of minds). When we compared couponing experiences they were absolutely gobsmacked that some stores allow you to use coupons without buying the product, they said it was not allowed over there and they would love the luxury of being able to buy what you want rather than what the coupons state.
I think sometimes we all take coupons for granted, don't we?? I've just come back from Mr. T's and bought half my shopping with coupons. I've lost count of the thousands I've saved.

Hi all
I'm fascinated and amazed by what I'm finding out here! I'm planning to try it out tomorow when I do a 'top-up-shop'. I usually only spend in the region of £10 - £15 in Tesco on a Saturday, so can anyone advise on how many coupons / value of coupons would be acceptable for that amount?
skint but in luv :kisses2:0 -

Personally I would use 1 or 2. Then next time up it to 3 or 4 - and so on. It builds your confidence up. That is what I did anyway. Good Luck.

Try offering a random coupon to the nice people at Waitrose (who also allow some coupon-use instore without buying the items), you will get a smile and as long as they sell the item they'll accept it at most stores, no problems.
Unfortunately, not all Waitroses are that nice... the one on Holloway Road, London refuses them, as does the one in Oxford Street under John Lewis.“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”

Oh yeah, and none of the Tesco in London seem to want to take my coupons either... They were even shirty when I tried to use the Diet Coke vouchers on Diet Coke... said I was guilty of theft and tried to take them away from me until I kicked up a stink.
It must be me.

i had heard from a cashier yesterday, that they have stopped taking the coke coupons there as 2 men were going in with handfulls of them and buying all the stock and trying to get gift cards with the rest - I'm all for using coupons and used loads myself yesterday, but i think some people really do take the pi$$ and thats what gets us a bad name and so we can't use them as we are entitled
Rant overcoupon over here, coupon over there, every crack filled with coupons even down there(meaning under the buggy lol):D0 -
i am really suprised that so many people get away with this coupon stuff. My local shops will only take a coupon for the exact product--if they are out of stock then they wont take it , if they have a different size--no way. If it is for another supermarket --no way either.i once tried a £10 off if you spend £100 a day late- i was treated as if i had tried to commit major fraud!0
