Yes it is too good to be true. It's a scam. They provide pirated copies with keygen serials that may or may not work. Microsoft do NOT allow download versions of Office for retail. See this thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=560404

There's plenty of clues though. He used to have a postal address on the site which was for another business who'd never heard of him. The company is called Exisoftware Inc but "Inc" is not a legal use for an incorporated company in the UK. The guy's name is apparently fake (same name as a terrorist!). Nobody has received anything other than a digital download from them. These aren't legal for MS products unless they're through a particular non-retail scheme or directly from MS themselves. There's absolutely no response if you try and contact them (I've tried personally).

Of particular interest should be this post

"Hello everyone. My name is Maxim Reva, I'm CEO of Extreme Internet Software. Our website address is http://www.exisoftware.com. We are in business since 2002 (this can be checked via WhoIs).

Since those guys registered their exisoftware.co.uk domain name we've received A LOT of messages from people who confused our domain name with theirs. They were asking how to download their newly purchased Photoshop or MS Office because the provided link won't work. Others were trying to get their money back or otherwise complaining...

And we've been trying to shut their site down... We filed reports to FAST and other "anti software piracy" organizations. But without any success. exisoftware.co.uk was down a couple of times for 2-3 days but they simply moved to another hoster and that's all.

So PLEASE do not buy anything from exisoftware.co.uk! They sell illegal copies of software! And most likely you will not get even those illegal ones after you paid them."

I don't know if it's relevant to you but if you're a student you can get Office 2007 Ultimate Retail for about £39 from www.theultimatesteal.co.uk (don't worry it's genuine as it's actually run by Microsoft and linked to from microsoft.com).

I was quite anti-Gates and anti MS when I was in my teens and it was fashionable but nowadays I'm anti anti-MS. Some of the anti-MS stuff borders on religious rhetoric so I really can't see the logic. They're not perfect and the software isn't ideal but what is. It's still good software. I'm extremely happy with Office 2007. And for £39 I'm not going to complain about the price. As for BG getting more money, good on him, I only wish I was in his position.

You got to remember that no other person in history has given more money to charity and charity programmes. And after his death almost all of his wealth will be left as well. It's hard to see any reasoning against "lining his pockets" when paying more than fairly for a product produced and the money's hardly going to nefarious means.
