I very very rarely add salt.
In fact I use salt mainly for cleaning, not cooking although i sometimes salt the outside of jackets to make them crispy, but other than that I cant remember the last time I used it :T:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I use Maldon sea salt - not just because I live near there.
I personally need to season meat and the sea salt is apparantly not as bad for you as table salt.
Never use salt on veggies whilst they are cooking.0 -
I never use salt when cooking, but if you have problem you can use lo-salt found by the normal salt in supermarkets as alternative. We use this on the table and tastes just the same though quite pricy.

I find the easiest way to reduce salt in cooking is to.....not add any!
Honestly, it may take a while but you will get used to the (proper) flavour of food without salt!
Out of curiosity is it just "old school" who add salt? Surely on the odd occasion that cooking is taught in school now students aren't actually taught to add salt? Are they? Please tell me no!? (and someone pelase tell Jamie Oliver that it really isn't on too!)Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

Also don't add any. No-one has ever complained or mentioned it.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

I just use loads of different herbs.
Must confess that we are coriander addicts!
Shallots are very good as well to give seasoning and flavour, much milder than onions.0 -
When my daughter was born we cut out salt from all our vegetable because we used to make up pots of food for her, from the excess of our meals.
Potatoes are the hardest I find, we steam all our other veg, and don't miss the salt. But the potatoes still boil in the water below the rest of the veg, a little milk and butter helps I find.
I do like a little salt on chicken and turkey skin when cooking, I find the gravy made from the juices tasteless without it.
A little salt is not bad for you at all, if you don't eat processed foods you will probably require a little salt in your diet.I had a plan..........its here somewhere.0
