So what is the point of transferring an image onto the phone that has a higher resolution than the screen - 240 x 320 pixels? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
It seems ok.. i wish the buttons were a bit bigger, but it's the best phone I've ever had (and I've had a new contract annually since 1998). So far i've had a k700, 750, 800 and now 850.
I miss the ability to quickly open the camera lense, but appreciate that some people found it annoying. The big missing features i'm waiting for them to address are better browser (i tend to use a downloaded free browser called Opera), better video (the technology is there, it's just not their current focus for marketing) and one day GPS.
I believe the next K model will include a GPS and the K850 was a stop-gap model between the K800 and that.
I do wish i could customise that stupid media button on the front - i want to just connect to the net instead.0 -

There's no point really, but i didn't know if the OP knew how to resize images on their PC. It is rather easy with Picassa though.
Perhaps you want to zoom and crop an image and then use it as a background on your phone.. there, that's a reason0 -

Still better done off the handset, so not a reason. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Thanks for the helpful input. However, it's not really very useful. I quite frequently print off photos from my phone using the kiosks in hotels/shopping centers.
Now, if i'd transfered a photo at it's original size, i could print it off. If i had downsized it to the minimum size, it wouldn't be useful anymore
My phone has a gig of space free - I don't worry about the memory storage much and I'm more concerned about the future usage. One can't assume the use of images stored on a phone anymore0 -
Why not? It isn't going to do any harm.
It could be transferred to a different computer at a later date at full size.
The OP wanted to transfer a picture to the mobile. Nobody said that it would do any harm but if it's just to display as a backdrop etc. there is no point transfering a larger size image than the screen can display.
No need for a childish argument!

There is no argument - I just gave an example of why the OP (or anyone else) may want to keep a photo full size.0 -

Being a owner of the same phone I would say that keeping the photo full size is pretty cool as the SE will ask you if you wish to want to display at full size or shrink down the photo, I always do full size as it shrinks the picture to fit but ups the DPI and gives you a better quality picture so espresso saying there is no point is actually wrong.
Also with the SE you want to use the cable and get the latest PCSuite as it has a better interface http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/products/k850i
I only installed the phones drivers as a lot of the packaged stuff was a bit naff, for the really useful things for the SE phones I used MyPhoneExplorer http://www.fjsoft.at/en/ which allows you to backup the phones contacts, messages, set reminders and all sorts of useful stuff.
