What mobile have you got ? you could always Bluetooth it across . I would move the photo to your desktop then Bluetooth it to your mobile .

My mobile is SE K850i and my system is XP. I didn't think I had bluetooth on my comp.

I've just right clicked on the pic, and didn't get the choice to transfer to desktop.

I used to use Infra Red with my old phone and Laptop but this is dependant on both devices having IR. The simplest way is to buy a lead that connects to the phone, my latest Nokia connects via standard USB but a lot of phones need a special cable as they have proprietary connectors at the phone end. Check your manual and see what it says. For transferring the files you usally get some software with the phone that enable syou to transfer data and manage your contacts etc.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

  • Depends how your phone can connect to your PC... bluetooth (wirelesly), infrared, USB wired, Memory card...

If you've got a memory card in your phone and a memory card reader for your pc, you can transfer them like that.

Personally, I've got an email address that if I send things (including photos) to, they get forwarded to my phone as a picture message

right click on the pic and save as and place it in an easy to find directory, my documents etc, you should have a usb cable and some software with your phone, install the software first then plug in your phone, you should be able to access your phones memory just like any other folder.

Remember to resize the image before transferring it to your phone e.g. to the resolution of the mobiles screen.

According to the Sony website you should have got a USB cable with the phone so use that. Details on how to do it here

Thanks, being a new phone, I've got all the cables and software but thought I'd try another way. I like Ringo's "Personally, I've got an email address that if I send things (including photos) to, they get forwarded to my phone as a picture message", maybe you would talk me through that please.

  • Well, i've also got a K850i. Now the trick to this is having an O2 mobile and O2 broadband (only 7.50 a month!).

When you sign up for both, you get a broadband user account and email address. You can set it up so anything sent to that address gets forwarded to your phone as an MMS (multimedia message). The downside is i've had 3 spam messages today and i'm thinking of turning it off.

With the K850, i'd recommend using the cable. As long as it's less than a 5mp image, your phone will be ok with it and you don't need to pre-resize it.

Oh, I understand. Because it is new, as in last week, I wanted to transfer pics as ID's. Yes, it looks as though the cable is the answer. Thanks.

By the way, how are you getting on with the phone, anything you don't like? is everything as you'd expect? what about the camera etc?
