Haha - I see the forum moderators have deleted some posts (Save_Me and felix65) in the other thread.

Thanks for the information - Amazon is probably a better place to buy than Play.com since they have their 30-day refunds policy.

Please be warned that the battle of the formats for the replacement to the humble DVD looks like it is being won by the Blu Ray disk and therefore for HD DVD it will soon be game over.

See for instance a recent article in The Times or The Economist.

You may find one day that you cannot get what you want in HD DVD, and therefore I would recommend Blu Ray, but maybe waiting for a while.

That's great news for those who don't intend on buying any new DVDs, but if you do, knowing that after May 70% of ALL new DVDs released will be on Bluray only.... Well, it definitely stops me from buying a HD DVD player!
if i had known then what i know now

Something tells me he already has a BR player.

This is a great price as a quality HD player with fantastic upscaling capabilities. It is even better with 7 films thrown in.

Who me? Nope I have one of these, and they are great.

But the major Studios have already decided that Blu-Ray is the winner and only be using that media for new releases. So no wait as far as I see, unless Joe Public proves them wrong
