Topped up my S&S Isa today

I can't resist the idea of a 'good buy' and with seeing how far the international stock markets have dropped today, I've pitched in with a few £££ to top up my S&S ISA.
It may work well for me, it may work against me, but has anyone else looked upon the market falling as an opportunity to buy ?

Yep. Fidelity India getting a top up from me. Cannot ignore the drop it has had in the last week.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I'm still feeling my way at this S&S (well OEIC) investing milarkey, but I considered todays small purchase as being part of my ongoing education.
With me, it was some more Allianz BRIC units -- with India, China & Russia taking a bit of a kicking (but not Brazil, yet), it seemed a bit rude not to have a go.
Here's where someone could help me - I've ordered today (11.30) at what pricing point will my new units be bought at (i.e todays 12.00 price, tomorrows 12.00 price etc, etc) ?0 -
Have also start re-buying selected stocks
...........and as if by magic the FTSE100 jumped 80 odd points
Could you give us a wee bit more warning next time 'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -
As the saying goes - "Buy at the first sign of gunfire!"In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0

Still showing a -170 FTSE so far today though! With all of last weeks drops as well, its well down.
I have a regular DD to pay into my S&S ISA which, rather luckily, is today. Although I am unsure of the pricing points of the various funds.
Does no-one else do the direct debit thing? I hope to benefit from pound cost averaging in this way.
I still feel there is further to fall in the stocks and shares though.0 -

I do the monthly DD milarkey, todays topup was just part of my 'self educating speculation' :rotfl:processs of successful Stocks and Shares investing.
But like you, I'm unsure on the actual pricing point of the funds.
This page can be interesting reading at times.0 -
So where can we find out? I will make an enquiry online with fidelity
now and let you know the outcome.0 -

That's Murphy's transaction being processed that caused that.
If you are putting your buy request in today, they will either buy at the price at close of business (or opening of business tomorrow - same price just worded differently) or at closing price tomorrow. Some may give a real time price but thats more common direct investments.
I think we are not officially into crash territory. Generally you need to see a 20% loss for the "C" word to be used.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
