I've just done that Maz. I've ladled it all through a slotted spoon into a bowl, thrown away the 'liquor' and then re-ladled it back into the SC and put fresh water over it. I'll see how it goes.

    It's this recipe

    http://uktv.co.uk/food/recipe/aid/514291

What a waste if that doesn't work :(

    2 tbsp my !!!! ..........

Well, it might be bread and cheese for dinner - the breadmaker has just finished.

Hope you kept the liquor.... just in case you need to add it back in? Or maybe you can use it to make soup!

Looked at the recipe online.... looks posh!! not sure i'd be brave enough to try that. And no offence, but i hope yours looks better than the picture!!!

Altho i'm sure it'll be tasty!

What did old school advise you to do?

It's Feu as in 'cooked in a pot over a fire'. Not quite sure the Ancient French had slow cookers.......you never know......

Although the way it's going it will be Ham Pot au beaucoup de sel

I may well be dumping it for pain au fromage!

Shame as underneath the saltyness it tastes wonderful.

OS said that the potato thing did work so I've chucked one in for the hell of it.

  • lol, by time you have potato in, ladled off all flavoured liquid...you might choose the cheese and bread anyway. I bet the recipie was meant to have been 2 tsp not 2 tbsp.

If all else fails....can you puree up and make it soup??

Is that Mr Crocodile on Toast Bunny?! :p

I reckon it should have been 2 tsp as well....
Nah, it'll be fine. Us westerners don't get enough salt in our diets anyway

Well a pizza was originally known as an italian welsh-rarebit...
A croque monsieur is a open toasted cheese sandwich - stick an egg on and it becomes a croque madame.

Calling it something French does make it sound posh...

That's about my level of cooking...

...but it's all in the presentation: "Voila! Un Croque Monsieur pour Madame! Bon appetite!" does sound much better than "There's your sarnie love..."

    toasted cheese sarnie!

This shows my level of kitchen ability, I once decided to make one of those but I didn't have a grill. So, I had a brainwave, lay the toaster on its side and put the sarnie in there, it'd toast and pop out when it was done. I rammed the cheese in, stuck it in and went off to grab a quick shower while it 'did'. The smoke alarm got me out of the shower pretty quickly, the stupid thing was on fire, half way up the walls and completely ruined my Mum's solid oak wall cabinets... oops.
