Unfortunately I've only got one granddaughter, and she's a butch punk who would rather poke her own eyes out than do any sort of craft work! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
There's still hope for the grandson though.lol

I've also seen mentioned on other threads where a local Estate Agent has got involved by putting up their 'for sale' boards at various (parents) properties, but instead of 'for sale' it will say 'fete at xxx on xxx' - they also pay per board. We've not tried this one yet, but I am going to mention it at the next PTA meeting.
Just to say we used the for sale signs and we did 50 people (me included) and got paid about £700!! EAsy money and great for the school!0 -

Thanks for that. This would probably be better for me as I tried taking a bottle top off carefully yesterday and it still ended up bent. Doubt if anybody would want a bent badge!0 -

Hi All,
Well, it's a couple of years since I last posted here - where has the time gone - and we have run two successful village fetes, with another one coming up next month.
Back to my original question on home-made stuff that sells well, I can safely say that the best sellers for us are cakes and jam. Boring, middle-England here, obviously! We made some bottle-top badges, which sold so-so with the youngsters but cards didn't sell at all. Haven't tried things like pinafores, fabric bags etc., so don't know if they would have sold.
Overall, our best money-spinner has been the local Garden Club's plant stall. The new Allotment group joined them last year and sold vegetable plants as well. And nearly everybody visits the Book stall to have a browse and buy one or two.
So, once again, thanks everyone for your original thoughts.
We have our fingers crossed for good weather on 20th June 2010!0
