Lost mobile phone Lifeline Insurance
Options
Iv lost my mobile phone. I have insurance with Carphone Warehouse(lifeline insurance). Just wondering if there is anyone who has claimed through lifeline insurance and whether they have been accepted or rejected.
I have notified police and service provider within 24 hours. I have contacted carphone warehouse and they said they want more details. They have sent an e-mail with some questions. Just wondering if someone has claimed who has any tips on what to write and what not to write as dont want the claim rejected by some stupid small print in terms and conditions.
Basically i was about in the town centre where i had the phone and when i got home it wasnt there. Which is what i have told them so far. Now they want answers to the following questions
Provide a step-by-step account from when you last saw your handset to when you discovered it missing, including a response to each of the following questions: a)Where and when did you last see your handset? b)When did you discover it missing? Please provide time and date. c)Where were you when you discovered the handset missing? d)Did anyone have access to the place your handset was? e)Was the handset secured? If so how was it secured?
Obviously i can answer the questions that i saw it when i was in town and when i got home it wasnt there. What about question e) what can i put for that
Does that seem reasonable or shall i put something extra to make it sound better
Any advise appreciated

Have you got the green policy booklet that tells you about the cover?
If yours is the same as the one I've got it seems that 'Loss' is not covered (see clause 6) only 'Theft'.
Hopefully yours might be different.0 -
Yes i am covered for loss but want to know wether they will accept my version of events or will they say its your fault for not looking after it. something they might have in their terms and conditions0

It should be okay, as long as you make it sound like you took care of it. So i'd say it was in your pocket/bag (fastened up of course), tell them the last time you used it, then when you went to use it again it was gone - say it could have been pickpocketed or fallen out (but you didn't hear/feel anything) or if you went to a cafe/pub say you left it on the table there and when you looked again it was gone.
Loss works if you have taken good care & attention to the phone, just don't make it sound like you don't usually know where your phone is (if that makes sense!) I used to work for CPW and can't remember any rejections on insurance.Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...0
