Ok heres the deal, i have finally got sick and tired of my foreign student chucking half of her dinner in the bin:eek: ! nigth after night ive asked what she wants as i dont like the waste, she always says she likes everything.. she has finally said that she just wants vegetables, no pasta, no potatoes no rice, no meat !!!!
Now my culinary repitoire is pretty basic, and short of giving her stirfry every night i`m stuck of what to do !
any ideas/ suggestions would be very welcome !!

I'd just feed her boiled veg, or maybe oven roasted veggies.
Veg stew or veg curry.

i did a 3 bean chilli with rice the other night (all the rice went in the bin) but i`ve got her staying for another 6 weeks, it`s hard enough having a picky son who wont eat what i eat, now i`m gonna have to do 3 meals a night !! aarrgghhh lolGoing it alone and feeling the pinch

I would keep giving her what we were having and put a loaf of bread on the table alongside some butter0

There's some recipes here for middle-eastern food.
Before you balk at them, imagine how she feels at being faced with english cuisine (no matter how carefully and thoughtfully made....)

Have you tried asking her what type of food she eats at home?
What about asking her to go shopping with you to see if she can spot anything similar to what she's used to?
Even better, give her the opportunity to cook for the family one evening:j.
Maybe she's feeling a little homesick and is genuinely 'off her food'?
Seriously though, have you thought about approaching the person who is responsible for her being here and explain to them that you feel she may not be eating enough and have they got any ideas. Surely they would be more familiar with the tastes and customs of Jordanian people.0 -
she`s been to england lots of times, she couldnt wait to get away from her home, she goes out partying all night everynight(sits in her boyfriends car with the ngine running and stereo on loud) so no i dont think she`s home sick she seems healthy enough i`m not worried about how much she is eating, but i am obligated to provide her with an evening meal, i tried all the normal stuff that the school suggest, and i spoke to a woman at work who origunates from jordon, she said i`d tried all the right things(what she actually said was that it sounded like the student is leadng me a merry dance lol) but all she wants is vegetables which is fine, just it`s a bit limited to be giving her steamed veg night after nightGoing it alone and feeling the pinch

Sounds like you're doing your best for a girl who is deliberately trying your patience (typical of the young!!!).
Give her steamed veges if that's what she wants. You tried, you can't do more than that. Either that or give her the veggie dish you're cooking but don't do her any of the carbs and save your pennies.:wave:0 -
Tell her to cook her own? I would expect to if I was doing similar things. Maybe allow her to take 'what you will eat' from the pans when you cook. That way you can freeze left overs (that are not left on a plate if she's using a serving spoon) and limit waste. One day I might be more organised...........
