MySpace/Facebook icons and banners

Does MSE have icons and banners for use to put on myspace profiles that will link directly to the site (also may be used on personal websites?)

if so where can we get them? and if not, is there any problem with me making some and submitting them to someone on this site for approval and publication?

I believe that with such things as the bank charge reclaiming campaign that such banners and icons could greatly help to spread the message and also to boost this sites traffic.

This has been asked quite a few times.

Unfortunately it looks like the terms and conditions are still a bit restrictive (especially the the bit about only linking to the hompage) -


5.5 You are welcome to link to our site if you comply with the terms set out in this section and all applicable laws. Any site or service that links to our site:

5.5.1 can display a MoneySavingExpert.com logo but mustn't otherwise use any MoneySavingExpert.com trade marks without our written consent;

5.5.2 mustn't remove, distort or otherwise alter the size or appearance of our logo;

5.5.3 may link only to our homepage unless we have given you our prior written consent;

5.5.4 mustn't in any way imply that we are endorsing it or its products or services;

5.5.5 mustn't misrepresent its relationship with us or present false information about us;

5.5.6 mustn't be a site or service that infringes any intellectual property or other right of any person or that otherwise does not comply with all relevant laws and regulations;

The "can use the MoneySavingExpert.com logo" is out of date because it refers to the previous top-left logo that had more info. The current one only has Martin's face and even the previous one was quite big to be used as a button since you weren't allowed to resize it.

That was the whole point of my asking. If there were 'official' ones which could be put onto this site (in maybe a 'Help promote MSE.com' section for which code could be copied and pasted, it would ensure that the content, likenesses, wording and all of that stuff complied with MSE's T's & C's.

My offer was merely one of taking the time to desiogn the logo/banner to be submitted to MSE.com for approval and publication onto their site by the webmaster. I have no intent however of doing anything untill approved and given guidelines by someone from MSE.

If you fancy doing a unoffical banner that could be used before we get to it - that'd be great - we'll take a look and happily give permission to be used in the meantime

MSE could really, really do with having a page that lists latest MSE news, announcements, and offers in a blog style.

I know I've suggested it a few times before but there's a reason I think it's soo important - Once you have a continually updated RSS feed (like one generated with a blog) with the latest site news, it opens up hundreds of possible official and unofficial uses. Google gadgets, sidebar widgets, embedded boxes on other peoples websites. etc. etc.

As a quick example, here's a couple of banners using Feedburner's Headline animator.
Since there isn't a site news feed, for this example I've used the blog. As new posts are added, the banners auto-update

Imagine an official banner (and better looking than my quick version) showing the latest moneysaving news being displayed on hundreds of sites!
