Water supply off, any compensation.

Options
When I came to fill a pan with water, to start cooking tea, we have no water.

I have been and spoken to our neighbours and theirs is off also.
I've phoned the number for United Utilities on my bill and listened to a recorded message about emergency work.

Anyway, my question is, how long does my water need to be off before I receive any compensation, or if I would receive anything.
There was no notice given and apparantly a large area is affected.

Fortunately I did have a 5L bottle of water in the cupboard, but being a Sunday, I can't even pop to a 24hr Tesco to get more at a cheap price.

Well, the toilet cistern has slowly started to re-fill....more of a drip really.
It's been off for over 5 hours.

A nuisance, a bit of an inconvenience, but hardly life threatening.

I've had no heat or hot water since Tuesday - compensation? - no I'm just dealing with it and getting on with my life!

Could be a bust main which isnt the water co's fault , if its going to be off for along while they will bring bowsers around, or bottled water.

Compensation etc is listed in the leaflet below

Thank you deanos for your helpful reply.
I did try to get on to the UU site last night, but was unable to.

It would appear that 12 hours is the qualifying time.
