in Credit cards
Wanted to say a hugh "thank you" to Martins Money tips and my mum (for prompting me to write the initial letter). I closed an EGG credit Card down over a year ago having felt frustrated at contant charges because I had reached the limit on my card. Having wrote to EGG several time previously I got nowhere until the new storm came in the water about credit card bank charges!
I used Martins template from my mum who printed it for me and wrote to EGG to receive a standard "GO AWAY" letter back the following day. I decided to use Martins tip and simply wrote back stating I was dissatisfied with the complaint still and decided to take my case to the Financial Ombudsman. Within 24 hours (the Friday) I returned home from work feeling rather poor to recieve a letter from EGG stating they are offering me a full refund with interest!
Breakdown of cost to me = 3 First Class Stamps (2 to EGG, 1 to Financial Ombudsman). Offer from EGG within 3 days.
£132.00 for charges from EGG
£12.74 Interest from EGG
Total : £144.74
I apceted this offer as it was the full ammount owed to me. :T
Its the easiest money I've ever made, and I had to laugh that EGG even gave me the web site to get in touch with the Financial Ombudsman www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk completely free on the GO AWAY 1st letter they posted back to me! ha ha ha ha
What a sucsess in three days from start to finish!
Thanks Martin (and my mum)
