                                  in Credit cards

I recently applied online for a Halifax cc (the one with 0% on balance transfers and purchases for 12 months).
Then in the post today i got a letter that started with;
"You'll be pleased to know that we have assessed the information you sent us, and we've approved your application for the HALIFAX ONE CARD. We are able to offer you a rate typical 15.9% APR variable"
So before i sign the credit agreement and send off for my card, i want to try and make sure they are offering me what i originally applied for. Has anyone else applied for this card, and did they also get a similar letter?
Does anyone know what it should say in my credit agreement?
Thanks.

The promotional rate will be 0%, when that runs out it will be the 15.9% It's in a table on your terms and conditions.0

Ah right, i'm checking through it all now.
I just wanted to make sure as another credit card company tried to pull a swift one by sending me another credit card agreement (for a high interest no offer card after initially approving the 0% deal).
Thumbs up for Halifax.Instigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0

Yeah there do seem to be a few places like that about. The table in the terms makes it very easy to understand. Just have a careful read before signing and sending the form back. I received the same card a couple of days ago. Only issue was the time it took to activate. customer service rep went on for ages with payment protection etc. Minor gripe though. Hope it works out for you0

Yeah, it just means it will change to 15.9% after the 12 month period. I've just received my 'One' card aswell. It seems to be the best on the market right now. Yes activation took me a while, had some foreigner trying his best to encourage me to take out payment protection and then fraud protection. I just switched off my brain at this point.
I went onto the Halifax website today and it appears that the 12 month offer on both transfers and purchases has finished now. Instead they're offering 15 months on transfers but only 6 months on purchases.0

So i was just in time then?
What's the deal, once you get your card through the post, do you have to activate it via phone? (no doubt through their sales team).Instigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0

That's interesting - the typical rate for the Halifax One card is 9.9% (according to their website), not 15.9%. Are you sure it says 'typical'? If so it might be an error... I'd check with them.0

It depends which card you choose, for some reason there's several different 'One' cards available - all with different interest rates! See links:

that first link appears to be an old offer based on the fact that it says 'pay no interest until 2008.' not sure where the 2nd one came from, but the third one is the current one directly linked on their website.
if I was the OP I'd query it with Halifax.0

You can be offered various rates ie 9.9%, 15.9%, or 19,9%.Aiming to be debt free....but still off target0
