    I agree with Newlywed too, and also not having a washing machine or fridge/freezer.

    If I had to, I would. BUT, if I was sure I'd gathered all the free newspapers that came through my door, and the doors of my neighbours if they didn't need them (I might, just might, rifle through recycling bins under cover of darkness) ... and then cut it up into squares ...

    depriving oneself of necessities - even though they could be afforded! Simply in order to be frugal! if you want to do that - there are convents and monasteries out there who would be happy to have you!
