Hi Gurus of the mobile board,
I was wondering if you could help me with a query - I have an o2 SEK800i, that my mum would like to use with her T-Mobile SIM. Now I know there's no free unlocking codes, but would it be ok to take to an 'unlocker' - I mean, would most of the functions work on it after?
Many Thanks in advance
Laura

LauraIf it was a PAYG handset, then it *might* still be unlocked, but if not, then you need to be careful. There's apparently several different models of the K800i out there that are either easy or difficult to unlock (depending on the parts inside the phone), and only an experienced unlocker will probably be able to tell the difference.
Also, if you do manage to unlock it, there can be issues with the web access, as a lot of branded phones are almost hard fused with the original settings. Overwriting them with the new network settings could work, but there's no guarantees. But for calls and texts, there should never be a problem (as long as the unlocking went without a hitch!).
Hope that's been of some help.0
