Want to reduce cost without changing handset or number

Hello!

I want to see if I can get our household mobile phone costs reduced, without changing handset or number. Neither myself nor my husband use them all that much, but I wondered if I could get the cost down a little bit. We mainly use texts, but neither of us spends much more than £10/month on it and mine is often less than that. DH uses vodafone and I'm on Virgin (mildly ironic, given the 3 children!!!).

I wondered if anyone on here could help, or point me in the direction of some helpful info, as I all I can find on the main site seems to be about cutting the cost when buying a new phone.

Tesco Mobile Value Tariff 5p per text and 15p per minute for all UK calls.

Tesco Standard tariff 10p text/20p calls, but you can nominate 3 numbers for 50% discount.

You can keep your numbers by getting a PAC (Port Authorisation code) from your current providers.

You may need to have your phones unlocked to be able to put in a different network Sim card. Virgin won't charge if you've spent more than £30 with them. Vodafone will, but you need to let us know make and model of handsets.

We have got 2 Tesco PAYG sims (instead of paying for postage at Tesco Direct!). Our existing contracts both expire in March, can I keep the sims until then before registering them as I would like to take our numbers with us? Or is there a time limit on activating them?

id say you both go Vodafone payg and do Family for £5 if you mainly call/text each other, buy a text pack.......free weekends

get two of the kids a vodafone sim & youll have free calls between you all ?
