MSE big on flashing smilies

MSE seems to be very big on flashing smilies. A multitude of these appear to the right of the POST NEW THREAD box.
I have just culled about thirty of these using the Adblock adjunct to Firefox.
Very annoying!

I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".

Personally, I find flashing and animated images very distracting. Adblock is a Firefox addon designed to kill adverts on webpages, but it is also useful for removing images - it works by right clicking on the image and selecting "adblock image".I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon.
