OR and new bank account

I would of needed a hell of a lot more than 2 or 3 grand to save me from going b/r,,what im getting at, is will the O/R or allow me to have a few quid in my account to act as a buffer,or would and could they see in to my account and prepaid credit card account?0

The OR does not monitor bank accounts after the bankruptcy order.
Very very rarely (for me a handful of times in 8 years) the bank will call the OR to notfy them of a large credit balance. In these cases the OR contacts the bankrupt to obtain their explanation as to the source fo funds and what they are needed for. Where its salary or benefits the bankrupt always gets to keep the money.
Strictly speaking the gift from your mother is after acquired proeprty, which means you should notify the OPR within 21 days of becoming aware of the impemnding gift. If you do this, and supply an account of how the money is going to be spent on living expenses( a breakdown with dates payee and amounts) I am sure they would let you keep the money.
Hope this helps.0 -
if you was one of the filthy rich but bankrupt your cash would be in a swiss/channel island/jersey bank account and your accountants and stockbrokers would be on your side when it came to covering your tracks

I am proably going to to put my foot in it now but............. i read so many posts on here from people trying so hard to find the b/c fees ect. Then you come along and want to know if the OR will find out about 2-3 grand that has been put into your account!!!!!!!!!!!!!! after b/c. Don't get me wrong. When i said earlier perhaps you could have used the money to avoid b/c, even if it would not have stopped the actual event, most on here would do anything to avoid the enevitable even for a short time, me included. If you get "away with it" good luck but i was told to declare anything over £100 and in order to sleep at night i will!Best wishes dalipFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

Casey don't worry about it. This money is obviously to bring your finances up to date as you have explained.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

I think most of us keep it secret, even from our nearest and dearest if we can.
My parents still worry about my circumstances even now and I know that if they'd have had a few quid, they'd have been trying to boost my coffers so to speak.
Casey, try to put enough into your bank account to cover your outgoings and stuff and then there won't be any comebacks and you won't need to worry.
