parcel stolen :-(

well after a very long search, i was one of the lucky ones who managed to bag a nintendo wii from play.com for £179.99, only for the silly delivery person to leave it outside my house to be stolen!!
I have been intouch with both play.com and Parcel force, i should either get a refund or another delivery, but the thing that has annoyed me is........ Parcel force left me a card through the door saying that the parcel had been left in my recycling box (that was empty)but according to parcel force the parcel was signed for, i have checked the electronic signature and it is just a squiggle........... the parcel was supposed to be recorded delivery!

What was Parcel Force's response to the situation regarding the card and signature?"Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."

have u tried ur immediate neighbours? and just plain manipulating by saying that a parcel was delivered to u and signed for by x person, with proof... their reaction would tell u who was lyin...
unless the courier jacked it himself...0 -
Parcel Force always does that and when you tell them off for doing it they just continue doing it. One parcel from amazon was handed to me and PF signed for it so I contacted Amazon and complained to them and tell them to complain to PF and get the delivery charge back. If I was not a good person aka not stealing I could have reported to Amazon that I did not get it and I was in the house all day and for them to sent me out another one. Lucky Amazon that it didnt go down that way.0

I've had this quite a few times now, in the past year especially. It's to do with failing standards and morality on behalf of delivery staff; they just can't be bothered delivering it to the correct place/waiting for a real signature/even carrying the parcel, that they just run off to the next "shipment".
There have been several accounts (friend of a friend, etc.) where the postal workers just open up the boxes and take anything of interest, before poorly taping it back together again.0 -

anecdotal or would you like to provide proof of that?
ive never seen it and would happily get anyone sacked/charged for it without qualm
sure there are dishonest workers in many jobs.
some accountants steal so they are all theives?
think how many posties deliver/handle mail on a daily basis vs the small % who are dishonest!0 -
Anecdotal, accounts of people who have friends working in a delivery company, telling them practices. I would imagine that one of these "friends" secretly filming them is the only way of making them face disciplinary action/fired.0

I've never seen any direct evidence of dishonesty in my dealings with ParcelForce, but I have seen direct evidence of careless, sloppy work practices.
I sent a £200 hi-fi amp to Switzerland a few months ago via their signed-for service, and because of the careless way that they processed it, delivery took 2 weeks longer than it should have, and it was delivered without a signature required.
Luckily for me, the buyer was honest enough to tell me that it had eventually arrived, and I was honest enough not to claim £200 from ParcelForce - which I could easily have done.
Despite the obvious c0ckup on their part, they ignored my application for a refund of the postal charge, and only paid up months later when I raised a formal complaint with Postwatch.0 -
I've had Royal Mail deliver a parcel to me incorrectly. It was early morning and I just signed without checking name of who the parcel was addressed to. When I realised it was for my house number and street name but a different name and post code I rang up RM. They said "not our problem we delivered it to the best address". They didn't care that it wasn't mine. I rang TS to see what to do and they said to ring RM to collect it back and if they refused again write to them and give them a deadline and advise them that if they failed to collect I would dispose of. Weeks later I had heard nothing and again at the crack of dawn the door bell goes. It was RM. They were wondering if a parcel had been delivered incorrectly to my address as the proper recipient was annoyed that it had been signed for but not delivered to him. Could have saved everyone lots of stress if RM had come and collected it when I asked the to. Wonder what was in it?

Absolutely but it would have saved a lot more hassle if RM had accepted that it wasn't mine, I didn't want it and if they had checked they would have seen for the post code two digits of the house number was missing i.e. I live at 1 and this was for 111 according to RM!~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)
