  • I do see your point Richard S, and will bear in mind the points you have made. I have decided not to reply to threads about possible BRO's or proscutions in future. The reason for this is that I only make the initial recommendation whether OR should investigate further. As i dont see which cases proceed to actual BRO/prosecution, i dont have the full picture so wont post on it any more.
You are correct I have never actually seen someone prosecuted for perjury over misleading outgoings figures. I word my post badly and apologise to everyone who read the thread and the OP.

    Hi A2C,

I welcome your posts on this Forum; you obviously have a lot to contribute, and as with all of us, you do it in your spare time and with no financial reward. For certain, the Forum would be a less informative environment witout your contribution, and it's strongest point is that people from all walks of life are motivated to to share their experience and knowledge.

I think what you should bear in mind though, and tigerfeet articulated this most eloquently, is that when you announce that you work for the O.R's office people, especially new Posters, are going to give you more credibility than other, possibly more knowledgeable Posters; you should bear that in mind every time you post.

If I may quote one of your recent posts:

Maybe i have misunderstood to, but i read this as saying she can claim for things that she does not pay for. For example you can claim for optical about £15 per month, but you only put this down if this is what you really pay. I may have read it wrong, sorry if i have.
Its just a matter of putting down what you really pay, of course you need to try and remember everything, and if you are not sure if OR will view it as an essential expense so put it down anyway. The examiner will disallow any non allowable expenses, and revise down any figures which are too high.
If people put down expense on the S of A which they do not in reality pay, they will be commiting an offence under the perjury act.
Reading your post again you probably meant you wil help make sure they include things which they do pay but are often forgotten. Apologies. But still worth making the point i think, from other threads.

For somebody coming to the Forum for the first time, that is an intimidating post.

"Hand on heart" how many bankrupts do you know of that have been prosecuted for perjury for claiming a £15 allowance for health care? I'd say some between none and zero. So what is the point of making a comment like that?

You probably see a lot of people who've used bankruptcy as a legitimate means to get out of repaying debt that they incurred and never had any intention of repaying. If that has skewed your perception of bankrupts, I can appreciate why, and there are occasions when people join this site and boast about flouting the regulations, but they're few and far between. The vast majority of Posters on here are terrified of the prospect of bankruptcy and thoroughly ashamed of the situation they're in.

I always read your posts with great interest and if you genuinely want to help people, as we all do, then I think a little more humanity, and reality, would make your posts far more helpful.

    Regards

    Richard

The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(

    Ty A2C,

We had that after Christmas and over New Year, and it's not pleasant. A large vodka and tonic with ice and lemon was the only thing that made me feel better.:D

I agree with Bltn, it was brave of you to Post a Thread like this. I would do it, because I don't really care what people think, so there wouldn't really be any point in asking the question.:confused:

Maybe I'll stop posting when people tell me I don't know what I'm talking about.
  • I am pleased you have decide to continue posting. Each time I see that you have replied to a post I read it with the confidence that this information comes from the "horses mouth" and always take on board what you have to say.
As far as the "tone" of your posts go I have never found them scary, in fact they are often succinct and to the point.:T
Keep up the good work I hope my OR is as helpful as you.:D

  • A2C i'm so pleased you have decided to stay, i will admit i do enjoy reading your posts as they are as CCS said "from the horses mouth" but you do scare me sometimes lol, i'm absolutly terrified about going BR next week & thourghly ashamed of the situation we have got ourselves in. but i would like to thank you for your honesty i would much prefer to read "facts" rarther than somebody sugar coating the truth.
