Thank you for all the sane and insane ideas lol. I never knew it would get so many replies. For the person who copied from Martins Blog. I can assure you my bras are clean well as clean as they will come up after years of wear lol. I must admit I do like the idea of the bra swapping party that has made me chuckle. Some of the other ideas were really good. Well done old stylers :T

    Ladies,

While we're on the subject, does anybody know a way of buying, um, large bras at reasonable prices? I'm a 32FF-G and none of the cheapie places, i.e. George at Asda etc, go up that big! The lowest price for non-sale bras in my size I can find is £21 each (at Bravissimo, the excellently-named specialist shop!)

So the best solution I've so far come up with is to get fitted at Bravissimo (a vast improvement on everywhere else) and get them to show you how to recognise a good fit, but then do all my actual purchasing in department-store sales (prices can then start at £10 or so).

Any other bright ideas? I do most other clothes shopping in charity shops, so spend a disproportionate FORTUNE on bras!!!!

I haven't bought from them but I was recomended it. The prices seem okish well as ok as you can get for big sizes . Also not sure what size la senza go to I know they go as far as F as that is what I am.

Bargain Rzl - it's not only you larger ladies who feel badly done to when it comes to spending on your bras. A few years ago, a friend and I went into M&S each to purchase said garment. We both picked the same one and they were the same price. However, I was a A cup and she was a G (at least)

Therefore my bras could be recycled to hold party favours, whilst hers could be recycled to hold...................... the parties :D

I do wish someone hadn't mentioned the Big Bra Shop. I'm supposed to be cutting back on spending at the moment, not discovering new places that actually sell pretty bras in my size. Think I'll bookmark it for next month (or the month after that, or the month after the month after that.........depending on how the finances are).

I have given up on M&S bras anyway! Their sizes are different from other shops once you get into larger cup sizes - there is no FF, it goes straight from F to G, neither of which fits me! They also seem to expect people's boobs to be really far apart

Bravissimo is by far the best place to get fitted (they don't use tape measures, their assistants just KNOW what size you are and hey presto, a perfect fit!) but they stock the same brands as the department stores sell, in DD-J cup. So as I said before, once you know what fits you can try and find it in the sale at Debenhams/House of Fraser...

The one I'm wearing today is from Debenhams and cost £31 but I didn't have to pay for that, because my (male) housemate thought he was being helpful by putting three of my bras in the tumble drier, which ruined them and he had to fund my next shopping trip :rotfl:

Bravissimo is also really good for swimwear, and they also have their own small but wonderful range of clothing, in size 10-16 with three "curviness sizes" for every dress size. These are not cheap at all and it's a good thing I've got all of you to stop me spending money on anything else, or my shopping sprees there would be my ruin!

Bravissimo are at www.bravissimo.com and they have a mail-order catalogue you can sign up for. They also have about 10 shops around the country (I'm a bit wary of buying bras I haven't actually tried on).
