Has QUIDCO died?

Always make sure you delete cookies before a transaction where there is a large commission to make sure it tracks.0

Anyone know of any honest sites which does as it says on the tin ? ...cashback ? that is to the customers pocket and not it's own.

I will shortly be replying to Quidco's direct private message which I have recently received following comments I made on another thread about them.
I will ask if they could reply on here to explain the points I have made.
But first I must say that Quidco are honest.Their problem I feel is that a select few of their merchants are not being dealt with fast enough.I stress it seems to be only a select few merchants out of the 1500 or so they have on their site.
You have messages on here from their paid up members saying that it's been months even years since they have got payment from a merchant.Yet Quidco are allowing this to happen and alot of the merchants are still allowed on Quidco for free and getting further business.
I can only assume that Quidco never mentioned to them that payment should be made within a month or two when the contracts were drawn up.
I am sure Quidco will know who hasn't been paid and which merchant are slow payers. It's easy to say in one phone call to the company person dealing with the cashback side(that could even be the person(s)who approched Quidco in the first place)to say here are 100 say members who are owed let's say £2000.Please can you make an internet banking payment today to our accounts, that way our members can be paid immediately and not the next monthly cycle. These payments need to be fast tracked.
The whole point that Quidco are flapping about with constant enquiries and if you like complaints which go round and round is that issues are not dealt with NOW.Dealing with one enquiry should deal and close all the others.
Internet shopping has exploded to massive proportions.Cashback websites are doing very well out of it and sites like these will mainly improve their
bank accounts.
A little tightening up and a better experience for members is the direction that should be taken.
Let hope that cashback sites can remove some of the folly involving 'not guaranteed payments' and direct their merchants towards upfront payment deposits giving the customer more confidence to join.
It may need a new player on the scene to change the state of play.
Virgin cashback or Easy Cashback.Now there's a thought!0 -

You may get unlucky and choose the wrong merchant.I really hope that doesn't happen but one day it could.
I've been with them for 2 years now and not had a problem. I get on average £100 per month cashback from them so do use it quite a bit0 -
They make so little per customer so doing the customer service is an expenise thing they don't really want. Horrible business pleased I don't do it

If all your merchants pay when they are suppose to there's no problem.
Should be a nice little earner. You should also gain more members giving you of course more cash.
However allow your merchants to be slow in paying or not pay at all then your customer service will be trying to keep up and you may not be such an attractive cashback company to new members after all giving you less cash.
So route out the bad merchants and get those payments in on time.
Like I said in an earlier post internet shopping is gaining pace and year on year is growing. These sites are also getting the credit they deserve and people will see the benefits they may receive.
Change that to will receive and you are onto a win win.
Each day cashback companies get free coverage from their own members to
fill those bank accounts further. So let's not be fooled into thinking they are
not short of a few bob.
They are clever people who just need to add a further feather in the bonnet.I'm sure Quidco would say that the whole reason they are surviving is because they haven't put in the suggestions I have said, but they are clever in my eyes as they are prepared to defend their corner in replying to posts on this website which funny enough as it may seem could encourage more new members to join.I told you they were clever.0 -
The problem I have with this organisation is three times I have been "unsuccessful" whatever that means, and there is no way of knowing why, and no interest from Quidco as to why I was "unsuccessful"
Surely the money goes somewhere, I understand Quidco reclaim the money and allegedly pay this into accounts, but clearly this system is open to abuse and suspicion when the only reply you get to a cashback enquiry is you were "Unsuccessful" which leads me to ask so "who was successful" has the money been paid into the wrong account, and if so who should look into that ? I certainly cannot, also if the money wasnt paid, why are Quidco still offering up the merchant with a poor track record, or is losing a little chaff along the wayside acceptable ? is the thought of cashback compainies "Well if we get 80% paid out we can live with that?"
I have received all minor cashbacks of £2 or £3, but the main ones such as car insurance, a computer, LCD tv were all "Unsuccessful" surely the company will say if they have paid out a cashback or not, so why not give the specific reason for the rejection. All the transactions, tracked and were validated and sat there for months, until each one disappeared off the screen and showed unsuccessful, ticket closed. No explanation whatsoever, no enquiry generated by Quidco and no interest from them.0 -
I've had one successful enquiry (£5) and one unsuccessful enquiry (£22) I asked why I had been unsuccessful by raising a ticket, but never received a satisfactory answer and they closed the ticket! All other stuff (usually less than £20) has tracked fine. £55 for Virgin media tracked fine too.0

HUKD have definitely received the payment instead of me (via quidco)
i'm just a bit stumped why they did as i always make sure i delete all cookies etc.
does make you wonder
Hi adr0ck,
If commission was paid to another marketing channel by the merchant, then that means there was something associated to that channel on the transaction.
One possibility is if you retrieved a quote after shopping around for quotes through another site. In that case, commission for your transaction would most likely be attributed to that site, even if you cleared cookies before going through Quidco. To be safest, it is recommended that in addition to clearing cookies, you also start a brand new quote from scratch, complete the transaction all in one session.Official Company Representative

I don't know about anyone else but alarm bells are starting to ring with some of the problems I've had and reading the problems others have had too !!!
It is an interesting thought about where the funds go that are not passed on and to give a variety of reasons as to why it might not have been paid rather than "the specific reason" is not acceptable in anyones book !!!
Earlier this month I raised 2 enquiries for Tesco for 2 transactions that did not track. Both transactions were in my history but hadn't tracked I provided full details with invoice numbers etc etc and the process started.
The status changed to insufficient info. and they asked for my email address for the transactions which I passed to them.
Then both enquiries were closed by Quidco due to enquiries for less than £1 not being supported ??????
The problems with this are both transactions together would be over £1 !
Why did they not say about the £1 limit at the start before using it as the excuse at the end of the enquiries !
How many hundreds of people are unable to raise enquiries because of the single transaction limit ?
I would agree that the economics of spending time to chase a non payment for less than a £1 on an individual basis would not be viable, but collectively it is. Lets say 100 people a day are missing a £1 that would make it £32,000 a year that is outstanding surely that needs collecting ?
Hi Silk,
It does actually say on the page that must be clicked through to get to the enquiry submission form that enquiries on commission amounts of under £1 will not be sent to the merchant but we still appreciate submissions as they assist us in keeping a record of how well a merchant's transactions track.
However, I would have thought that it would have been picked up before you were asked for your email address. Could I ask if there was an amount of commission showing on your enquiry after you entered the transaction amount, please?Official Company Representative
