Has anyone taken up this offer in the past? Am thinking of opening an account, transferring my salary for a few months and then reverting to my old bank (which I'm happy with).
Anyone know of any perils or pitfalls to be wary of?

I was wondering this too
although having recently taken out their credit card I'm not impressed by their internet banking... 0 -
What's wrong with the Internet Banking, I use it all the time and find it superb. I know several people who transferred accounts the last time this offer was on and they were alll happy. Some problems with transferring accounts but that was more the fault of the bankthey were moving from.0

I've helped set up internet banking for a number of people and I've seen a fair number of the internet banking systems.
Somebody should tell the Ulster Bank that the wheel is apparently round.
Stone age internet banking.
Truly bloody awful. The worst by some distance. Go on, have a laugh.0 -
I've looked at switching account. I see Ulster Bank do Maestro debit cards, do they not do any other? I know my son had bother ordering on line with Maestro debit card. I don't always want to use credit card so need the debit one, but certainly not Maestro.0

The Ulster bank switch card was a total nitemare! I had paid cc bills using it over the phone and it kept refusing to pay out! security problems resulting in late payment charges! They now have maestro cards and so far no real problems with them. Remember to use 0 as the issue number cos if ya dont sometimes it wont go through. I tried using my maestro card in Bundoran and they wouldnt accept it?! !!!!!! so I landed in with the bank and wanted to know why? They couldnt understand why it wouldnt go through, not as if my account was empty had just had my monthly salary paid in!:rotfl:oooooooh i luv a bargain

I done this the last time they had the offer. They managed to switch only half of my DD which meant lots of unpaid bills and late payment fees. At the time I was livid with them, and it took a lot of sorting out on my belalf, got £75 goodwill guesture on top of the £150. Be prepared for them messing up the switching process, but the £150 might be worth it!0

Do you have to switch all your DDs? Cos TBH I really love my nationwide current account and couldn't bear to think of really moving to a different one, I'd just open one for the sake of the £150. BTW their internet banking is loads better than ulster bank as well.0

Maybe I am old fashioned at nearly 50 :rotfl: but there is no such thing as a free lunch Banks will not "give" £150 without getting much more in return!Dave0
