Incapacity Benefit not paid! help

Hi there,

I receive incapacity benefit which is paid fortnightly on a friday. This has always been the case until today and no money!!! arrrhhhhhhhhhhh!

I have not received any letters of any kind, and have used all the credit on my mobile phone ringing 08456088618 to be told all our lines are busy call later!

Is this always the case with this number? as I always used to ring my local office.

Has there been a breakdown and lots of peoples has not been paid, I have no idea what to do, and no money and no food, this is as bad as it gets!

anyone know of a way to get through or perhaps email?

many thanks

  • I have finally got through to be told that my claim has been suspended, because I havent returned the IB50 form sent to me in November. I explained to the man on the phone that I have never received this form and if I had of I would have returned it, because I live on that money!

Anyway he said he will put one in the post today, but i was wondering can it be downloaded from the internet anywhere?

    any ideas Id really appreciate

    many thanks

    Hi Electraleigh,

I've had a a good search for you, but the information I've found seems to indicate that the IB50 isn't availalbe as a download, but hopefully someone might know different and point you in the right direction. :)

Once you get your IB50, you might find this website useful to help you fill it in.

Good luck and I hope you get it all sorted out as quickly as possible.

You are right Fleago, there is no IB50 you can download and print off on the Internet, but there is one you can complete online on the DWP site, sorry I do not have the link.

There appears to be a form you can download (in pdf format) here.

    http://www.redcar-cleveland.gov.uk/main.nsf/0/D2C662E2919BCB3580256F6C0033AB39?OpenDocument

It's listed about half-way down the page.

    Hope that helps

It did seem like there would be a copy of the IB50 but I have checked and it is not.
  • Very strange the way these idiots work, protected as they are by their gold plated jobs and perks! Mine did not arrive either in spite of the fact that all forms sent to me were received before the deadlines they had set and were sent by 'Royal mail Special Delivery before 1.00pm Next Day'. I have proof that the packet arrived too!
Perhaps it is time that when things like this happen, and cause hardship due to their fault, a compensation payment should be payable equal to twice the amount that was due in addition to the payment that did not arrive! They would soon stop their nonsense then if were also decided to penalise the errant operator who had decided to stop the payment. I say operator as it is they who cause it to happen, computers only do as they are instructed to by the operator!
Hope you get it sorted, I will be on their backs first thing Monday too.

That is the same document as before and not a copy of the IB50 form.
  • well what a song and dance this was!

anyway I finally get through yesterday when said forms hadnt turned up again, confirmed my details and the lady on the phone said thats not the address we have for you?

I said is it xxxxx address? and she said yes, I said I moved from there and informed you in november 2006!!! eek

So the guy on friday never checked my address, so 3 x the forms were sent to my old address!

I said it is not my fault that I never returned the form, and after lots of discussion they agreed to make 1 payment to me.

Forms have arrived today, will be sending it back recorded delivery! unbelivable!
