    Hello can anyone please help?
Last night i tried to download iTunes on a dial up (pay per minute) connection. I was told it would take 15 hours to download, so cancelled it. Is there anyway i can get hold of a CD to install iTunes (or can a friend of mine who is on Broadband) download it to disc easily enough? Firstly i don't fancy leaving my computer running AND connected to the internet for 1 hours and secondly it will cost quite i bit just to downlaod iTunes.
    Any help is greatly appreciated

Do you know anyone with a broadband connection and a CDRW drive - yes, go and see them and go to the downloads section on the Apple website and download it.

Save to disk and once this is finished you have the latest version of ITunes.
Now you just load it onto your PC.
You will get a notice that the IPod software has an update too, this as far as I am aware is only available via the ITunes software and not as a stand alone piece of software. My IPod sync'd through ITunes this is in excess of 30 odd MB too. There was a time when you could enter your serial number and just download your IPod software but I cannot find this on the Apple site.

I am not sure what are in the updates but if all is working fine with yours, there is no need to keep updating, is there!

    Thanks for your help everyone.

I did (as suggested) get it downloaded to CD from a friend who had Broadband (and a bit more sense than me). I have tried it and low and behold it works! I only want to put all my CD's onto it so i can clear a box or 2 out the house into the loft. As for downloading music (as missile says) i wont really be needing to do that for the time being as the new iPod and speaker will be enough to keep me happy for a while. Once i have put all the CD's on - which i guess is a big ask i will look at downloading music and maybe look at broadband as yes it does seem to be the only way to go, i suppose the cost may be offset by the time saved.

Thanks again everyone, very helpful... now if i only knew how to close this thread?????
