Im I able to terminate my contract with 3?

Hi
9 months ago "3 Mobiles 4 You" approched me at the end of my contract on O2, i had 2months left with O2 they (3M4U) said they wud deal with O2 and cancel my contract for me, which turned out to be a lie, i had to sign a letter that they supplied, then post it to an O2 address myself, which turned out was the wrong address, by then i had missed the 30 day period, so it turned out i had 3 contracts out on the go ( i had 2 contracts out with O2 b4 hand). O2 sed they wud credit my accounts for the whole year so i would not have to pay anything jus no upgrade on the phone side.
After i got my phone from 3M4U, about 2 weeks into the new contract, i was offered a special deal on insurance it was half price for the 18months, i asked if there was an excess on the policy and was told there wasnt, so basd on this it seemed a good deal. Just rencently the my phones backlight has failed so the phone is useless, i called 3M4U they sent me out a claim form, upon receiving the form i've discoverd that there is a £45 administration fee. Ive sent a letter ive downloaded off the main webpage here to ask for my money back! We will see how that goes.

Theres more!! lol!

When i took up the offer with 3M4U, i got 18months half price rental, no problems there, but also they told me that I could downgrade tariffs after the half price offer had finished, so that i wouldnt ended up paying £44 a month! Today i rang 3 themselves (3M4U said to ring Three for chaging the tariff), but Three sed that I cudnt downgrade until the full 18months were over! I believe then, that i've been misold the contract. Do i have a good enough reason to cancel my contract and fight it out? Thank you if you have read all this, but im fed up with these guys ripping people off!

  • Did they ring you, or was it done online/email or was it a local store? Depending on where you bought it could depend on how easy it would be to find out what was set out and explained to you
  • they rang me in all the cases, only problem is i didnt get alot of paper work with it, so dont know if that would hinder my attempts at cancelling my contract, or sum money back.
  • Hopefully someone still checks this thread. I took a contract with a dealer called 3mobiles4you over the phone in March 09. Even though i was happy with O2 they still managed to hoodwink me across to them saying that 3 currently have the best packages and when i asked them if they deal with O2 they said yes but we dont have great deals of thiers at the moment just 3. So they sent me a phone within 24 hrs, phone looked good and different to the one i had. I accepted it to find that the phone i had before was much better having used the new phone for a few days. Im not really keen on three, i felt hoodwinked into it, i was lucky i point blank refused the insurance and i had to badger them for 2 months to get a cheque out of them even then i still ended up at a loss. I also found that with 3 my bills end up more expensive with o845 0800 nos etc as they dont include that in as part of my free minute where as o2 did.

Now i have just recieved a letter from 3 stating that they no longer deal with 3mobiles4you..... if thats the case having originally taking the contract up with 3mobiles4u is there a loop hole for me to cancel it?... due to the fact that they also said i was to contact them for any problems etc and i signed nothing

The contract will be with 3, so you should deal with 3 directly. They only sell on behalf of the company. I believe CarPhone Warehouse do run some 02 contracts but everyone else just sells them for the operator.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies
