Schnauzer Breeder in Scotland

The (standard) schnauzer is also a beautiful dog, bigger than the mini but still small enough to pick up. Unlike Mini Schnauzers, the Schnauzer is generally not exploited by puppy farmers and there are some very good breeders around. Here is the breed standard of the schnauzer http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/item/172
compared to the mini schauzer:

Hi guys, its great to have all this advice. I am currently looking for one (miniature or standard) and like the original poster am based in Scotland, having a nightmare of a time finding anyone who sells them - unfortunately all over the UK it seems to be standard Pitbulls amply for sale! Have noted all the advice and websites and am well on my way to start research. Just one question though to those experts out there - had heard they are superb with small animals? I have a kitten (9 weeks old) and that's why I was interested in Schnauzers (that .. as well as being lovely looking dogs) .. is this true?0

I don't know is the honest answer but I have two friends, one with a minature, and one with a standard, and they both also have cats (one has four!). Most dogs which are raised with cats are fine with them, and vice versa. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Thanks Jackie - will probably have to get a move on though before madame kitty gets used to having the house all to herself and ends up beating on the poor newcomer!..0

I personally prefer the standard type
Minatures are ok though but I would avoid the Giants like the plague(have been attacked by two different giants on separate occasions and have the scars to prove it!)
