Radiators............

I've been recommend to this forum by a very nice person (Merlot), most forums I've been on have been great except one but that is the past!

Not sure this is the right forum for my question but....

Have a small lounge and am knocking a wall down. As areas are small, looking for space saving radiators - but, as damn pipes come down from the ceiling and look unsightly, am looking for those rather delicious rads that go floor to ceiling but at a good price!!

The ones I've seen that are a good price are the towel ones for bathrooms - and we're looking for lounge here! The ones I've found that have liked have been from £600 to over 4k! Well, hello, not won the lottery yet!

love to know if any of you have any advice/ideas etc. If we don't go floor to ceiling, it will cost to box in pipes. Floor to ceiling would be good as make room seem bigger - more options furniture wise too.

Hope someone has some ideas:D

    Hiya, :)

Yes, you're right. This probably isn't the best board for your question.

The best one is probably the In my Home board where all the DIY [strike]nutters[/strike] erm... enthusiasts hang out. ;)

So I'll move your post across there and I'm sure they'll be able to help you :)

Have you tried Screwfix.com? They do reasonably priced rads, better still if you live near a branch as you can collect it directly.
    Try

I had a look round - and its awful to say that those sites didn't show anything that I liked! I liked a few but wouldn't go with the area - its the vertical ones that would suit us, they all seem best suited to bathrooms. Well mostly.

Why is that the ones that would look just right, fit into where you want them, have to be extremely dear!!!

We have just had three black floor to ceiling vertical radiators installed in our kitchen/diner but we got them through our builder and I am not sure if there was a discount on them. anyway it cost about £800 for the three but they look amazing. Have you looked on The Radiator Company website.

If you have surface pipework then I would assume that you have screeded floors. All of the tall rads would look much better if you had the walls chased to hide the pipework.

Of course that does mean redecorating and it wouldn't be exactly cheap - would look much better though.
