I realise how lucky I am now I'm with CCCS. I have allocated budgets for everything - our 'hobbies/entertainment' budget is £40 for the 4 of us - that pays for Sophia's dance lessons and school trips etc.

I also try to use the £315 allocation for food etc wisely so I buy presents and other items too - use it for 'extras'. So I know we are really lucky.

I think you can alter your social life so it doesn't have to be expensive to have fun. Like others have said if you take advantage of free activities like museums and using Orange Wednesdays at the cinema. There are MSE, guilt free ways of enjoying yourself.

Just meeting friends at each others houses and taking turns to cook and sharing a cheap bottle of wine can be better than going out sometimes I think.

It's nice as well in the summer to go to the park with a packed lunch, (probably best not to go in this weather now though.);)
