I never understand how people can spend like £100 a night on drinks!!!
My friends used to at uni- I quite often drink before I go out and only take cash with me so I;m not tempted in a drunken stupor to overspend hehe!

Don't get me wrong- I enjoy a tipple (new years for example, 1 full bottle of apple sourz myself and a 1 litre bottle of absolut between me and a friend!) but I can't justify spending that on one night!

Nothing left at all for socialising as it should be when you've got debts that need paying.

Do you include 'emergencies' in your bills then?

Also, I've had whole weekends in edinburgh for like £150 for two of us including a b&b stay because my cousins flat was a bit full at the time!

I really can't see how people can not have things left over. What happens if something comes up?

no but what I have left would include many different things - tuition, food, travel (work and to visit family), emergencies and maybe a little for socialising but that is rare. Some people just like to have some money in case they need it. If you can cope with your debt/have very little then I see no problem.

surely tuition/food/travel is counted in 'bills' because it is money that HAS to be spent as it were?

That is how I would work it out

I know but they can vary each month. I could pay more each month but would rather I know I have money if I need it and that I can put it towards debt at the end of the year.
