I am a cable customer, and I did not know that Virgin provided ADSL.

Yeah, Virgin.net is their ADSL service, been going a few years,
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

is it for cable customers or for customers who use adsl

The trials and the previous free offers were for the cable side.

You get the choice of a free ADSL Modem/Wireless Router or Freeview box for new customers on Virgin ADSL if you take the 8mbit package with a calls package.

If you're an ADSL customer I suppose you could ask about getting a free ADSL Modem/Router.

For some months, Virgin have been making noises about providing all their broadband customers with a free wireless router. Anyway, I got fed up waiting for this and called their retentions people to ask what was happening. To my delight, I was told to buy myself any router up to the value of forty pounds, send them the receipt, and my account will be credited with the amount the router had cost me. And I didn't even have to haggle for this: she told me straight away that this was the policy.
You have to be careful with virginmedia. What you was told might not neccessarily happen, in that your account is not updated with the credit. Unless you see it in writing seek further confirmation(and even then be prepared for disappointment).
If this is for real however I would buy myself a router even though I am currently using my own and then flog it off on ebay.

    Hi All,

We got a free Netgear router from Telewest last year, around a week before it became Virgin Media. We just phoned up and enquired about it and it was sent out free the next day, the thing we had to agree to was not to cancel our contract within the following 12 months, else they'd charge us for the router.

Standard Netgear cable router, only Telewest branding on it is on a sticker on the bottom, and the box it came in is entirely Telewest branded. Works a treat!

    Cheers
